Cat Eyes by Too Faced

This is a cute palette by Too Faced. The color payoff is really good, nicely pigmented. The last row you can apply it wet and use it as a liner but I don't think that the wear for the "liner" is long. It is a nice idea but not the best. The hilighter colors are great, I do wish one of them could have been a transitional color. but at least they were beautiful. The color Kitty Glitter comes out sheer, I do wish it had more of that baby blue color. Overall, I do like this palette, I can see myself using this palette, would I repurchase this, probably not. 

Battle of the Brow Gels

I am happy that now drugstores are catching up with the beauty world. This year has been all about the brows, no joke. I am happy to see that they came out with brow gels, something different than brow pencils. Two brands Maybelline and Hard Candy came out with them. I had the chance to try them out and here is my review.

Maybelline: It cost about $6-$8 depending where you go, It really holds your brows in place, they had 3 shades to pick from: Blonde, Soft Brown and Deep Brown. This product is best used for people who have good brows and just needs a little color. I have very sparse brows so it only add color the the hairs, it does not add any color to the sparse areas, this product also flakes a lot. The brush is circular, I am not quite sure the reason for that. This product would have been so good if it would have done more for the sparse area and if it wouldn't flake.

Hard Candy, they come in 2 shades: Light/ Medium and Medium/Dark, this is a dual ended with a shimmery brow hilighter, which is really nice. This product has fibers in it which is great, for me it did add some color to the sparse areas. It does an okay job in keeping the brows in place, it has a small brush, which I love because I have sparse brows and this is the right size to get into the sparse areas. I love this product, it doesn't flake, and it cost right around $6 at Wal-Mart. 

Teddy Bear Hair Professional Set Too Faced

Can we talk about how cute this is?? So pretty, but the downfall is they aren't blendable, maybe the powder brush is the best and maybe the liner brush as well, but the contour, blender and the all over shadow brush is not the best. I think it doesn't pick up most of the product at all. These are a little disappointing I have to admit. They are so pretty, the color, the design and don't get me wrong they are super soft, but maybe they will just have to be a display for me. Not worth the $65. (The liner brush with the cheetah design did not come with the set but since it isn't the best, I included it as well)

Too Faced Chocolate Bar

This palette is hands-down my absolute favorite, the names went so well with the shadows, I appreciate that there are mattes and shimmers and a couple glitter, they smell like different kinds of chocolate to me? I appreciate that for the brow hilight it has a matte and shimmer. The palette is very versatile, I can see where I can do a smokey eye, night look, and day time look. SO beautiful! It has a good variety of colors. I have tried "Salted Carmel, Marzipan, White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate, pigmentation is no problem, they show good color pay off. (I also added the name of the colors, so you know what I'm talking about)

The "Smokes" Swatches by Maybelline

This is the top row of the palette, and as you can tell it is not pigmented. I was really hoping it would be pigmented but nope.

After playing around with the palette all day, I have come to a conclusion, the palette is indeed beautiful, but the color payoff is bad, you would think that the dark colors would be very pigmented, but they hardly show, you really have to pack the shadow on your eyelid, the navy and eggplant were the most disappointing, they are sooo sheer, if you pack it on you can at least get some color. Oh, and you have to wear a primer for the colors to show, unless they won't. So, I love the colors and the palette is soo pretty but is it worth the money, sadly not.

Maybelline

Maybelline has come out with some new products recently, and for me this is big, why? Well, they came out with a new eyeshadow palette "The Smokes' new creamy matte lipsticks, a new tinted brow gel, new Color Tattoo eyeshadow! I love them all, well appearance wise, I have yet to test them out!! So far I love them, because they are new, and I love new different stuff, good job for stepping up to the plate, Maybelline!

Make-up Geek Eyeshadows

Cant wait to try these eyeshadows, I am getting Beaches and Cream, Peach Smoothie and Creme Brûlée. They are very neutral shades and 2 of them (creme brûlée and peach smoothie) are great for transitions shades in the crease. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths, 25 Count

I have tried so many cleansing cloths for removing make-up and for cleaning my face, but this product right here tops everything off. It feels soo good on my face almost as if I was applying moisturizer to my face, no joke, It is very hydrating and removes my  make-up well. They are a bit pricy, for 25 cloths, but the end results is amazing. I love it. I recommend it. Go and get it!

Too Faced vs Urban Decay

It seems like lately these two brands are going head to head. First it was their mascara, I have tried Peversion (Urban Decay) which I love, I have yet to try Better than Sex (Too Faced) and now they are coming out with their limited edition palettes. Which is the better of the two? I love the Naked palettes hands down, but Too Faced has beautiful packaging, they both have good quality and cruelty free, but I am a sucker for packaging. I think it comes down to products itself. Everyone has their own preference like for example: Too Faced has the best matte, delicious smelling bronzer that everyone raves about, Urban Decays eye pencils are super smooth, Urban Decay has their face mist, Too Faced has the infamous Chocolate Bar palette. I think for me it's not brand preference because both brands each have their own products that neither have alike.

Obsession of the moment.

I have been really obsessed with two new products (new to me). They are the extra steps to give me a flawless finish for my face routine. The rice powder you can get that at Sally's Beauty, although I never go there for their make-up (it's just not my cup of tea) I will come back strictly for the face powder. The face primer I got from Wal-Mart. I love it. I recommend it. It doesn't really have a silicone feel like my Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I think the Hard Candy might be a tad better. It doesn't move my foundation around like most primers that I have tried.

I just love samples, we all know what they are for, right? Test before you buy the product. A lot of high-end make-up brands like:Too Faced, Urban Decay, Sephora and Benefit Cosmetics actually give out trial sized products. I love it when they do that. Not only are they free but most of the time the samples are pretty awesome, Ipsy Glam Bag items are mostly sample sized and for $10 for some high-end products to have are not bad, too bad you don't get too pick out what you want, right? I always try out the samples that I receive.  I may end up loving it and buying it. They sure know how to lure their customers in, right?

Magic Lumi Primer by L'OREAL

I love a dewy finish about 80% of the time when I apply my foundation. I use a couple of drops of this and mix it with my foundation. Then BOOM! Beautiful dewy look. You can also use this to hi-light your cheek bones, your brow bone,  and the cupids bow. Wherever you need hi-lighting this works lovely. I recommend this highly. L"OREAL does it again, and I always seem to underestimate them. Not this time.

There has been a couple of things that I have been loving lately. A lot of the items are what I already have and just rediscovered and some are new finds!

Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick: Mocha-licious #914C
-They are areound $1.99 matte lipsitcks nice color selection, they can be a bit dry but I use my EOS lip balm and it gives it a nice creamy finish. I absolutely love them. I have almost all of them. For fall I have been loving the color Mocha-licious. They are super pigmented, very nice colors, not sheer whatsoever!

-I have started to contour lately and the brush I use to contour is the Real Techniques Contour Brush, and I use my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil and I love it! The brush is so nice and small to get a nice contour for my cheeks!

-in 110-These lashes look so natural with some length I abolstely love them. I am not into big voluminous eyelashes I like how my lashes look but if I want to go for a flare I use these!

BeautyBlender Make Up Sponge Kit 1 Black Sponge + Cleanser
-If you want a nice flawless finish I would recommend this! Don;t go and but the generic kind of beauty sponges. You will love this I guarantee.

MAC Fix+ Skin Refresher / Finishing Mist Full Size 3.4 Oz.
-It works so nice! I use it before I apply foundation if I feel like my face needs to be hydrated, Or I use it to set my make-up. If i want my eyeshadows to pop I spray my brush and dip it into my desired eyeshadow for a more intense color.

My Hispanic roots

I am very much proud of the person I am today. I am proud being Hispanic descent, girl, I was born in the U.S, in good ol' Kansas. I love my black, thick hair, my dark eyes, my fair/medium skin. I love eating my tortillas and I love eating my sandwiches, I love being bilingual, I love the value, belief and the behavior I was grown up with. My Spanish is nowhere near perfect, but I have no shame in speaking it. I will always have a lot to learn and I will continue to grow my knowledge and pass it to my kids. I want them to be proud of who they are, and never be ashamed of speaking Spanish like I was when I was growing up. I felt as if I needed to fit in, and I wish I never would have done that. I decided that English would be my first language, and know I struggle to say a proper sentence in Spanish, but in life, it is trial and error and we do learn from our mistakes. No matter where you come from, your culture, your beliefs, race, and religion always be proud of who YOU are and never let anyone tell you different.

My advice for young girls who want to wear make-up.

I know you have natural beauty and you don't need to do anything to change that. But if you don't see the world in my eyes, just some gloss and mascara girl. You  need nothing more than that. You do not need foundation, concealer, definitely no bronzer, no for the fake lashes. Definitely take advantage of your young and beautiful face and leave it be. If you have acne going on, girl, just worry about taking care of your face (drinking lots of water, and have a face cleaning routine) do not try and cover it up with foundation. Just my advice. I wish I would have taken this advice I am giving when I was younger, but now that I know I can pass this advice to my two beautiful girls!

Rewarding

After the housework is done. lunches are packed, kids asleep, baby ready to sleep, husband passed out, I know my job for the day is done and tomorrow a new day same routine, another day of life. Blessed.

Drugstore vs High-End

The difference between a drugstore lipstick and a high-end? Could it be the formulation, maybe that one is cruelty free, or maybe better packaging? Well a big obvious difference is the price, big difference. Can a drugstore lipstick be better than a high-end lipstick? Sure it can. But there are some drugstore lipsticks that don't make the cut. Foundation? Drugstore or high-end? Which is better? Both in my opinion. I am obsessed with my L'OREAL True Match and my Revlon ColorStay. I sure do love my M.A.C Matchmaster but it is well over $30. What about blushes? I would rather spend more on bronzer than blush in a heartbeat. Why? I find that a lot of drugstore blushes look ashy or too orange for my complexion. Eyebrow products? Definitely high-end for me. Why? I have been cursed with combo skin so the only product that doesn't smear is my Anastasia Beverly Hill DipBrow Pomade. Sure the Nyx Eyebrow Gel works beautifully but it sure does smear within hours of use. Well I will have to see if it will have better lasting power in the cooler weather now that we are entering fall. So which is better in the end? It all depends on YOU. We are all different with different skin type, color and preference. What might work for me may not work for someone else and I am talking more about foundation in general. It took me a long time to love L'OREAL True Match, why? Because I really didn't like how runny it was, but once applied with a Beauty Blender the outcome is truly beautiful!

I have never seen such well put together packaging!  Everything I could ever ask for! I took a nice picture of the colors. The colors are about true. The bronzer here looks too orange but its just the lighting.

Hair Products I Recommend (wavy hair)

Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment with Macadamia Oil-this stuff right here, I cant even begin to tell you about it. I received this in mu Influenster Vox Box, I was so pleased with it. Ir really don't straighten my hair much, but when I do I use this and my hair smells so good and feels so soft and beautiful. I do recommend this you guys!
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeep Conditioner-this product is a definite staple in my hair care. Keeps my hair looking and feeling good. Dirt cheap.
L'OREAL Sleek It Frizz Vanisher Cream-this, I love it, this does sleek my hair, and where I live, it gets humid like no other but when I wear this, bye-bye frizz. It even smells good. 

Affordable Brushes

Here are some affordable brushes that I have tried and love. I absolutely love my Sigma brushes but there is room in my heart for more.

Bh Cosmetics-super soft brushes. They also have discounts quite often and I seen on their website that they added different colors and textures of brushes. Must check out.
SoHo-you can find these brushes at Wal-Mart and Wal-greens that i know of. Super cute colors, I love the colors. They also have a beauty sponge. I love these brushes. I use the one for my brows and one for my blush.
Eco-Tools-they are sooo soft. You can find these brushes at the drugstore. Very affordable. I love them a lot. These were the first brushes I purchased when I first got into make-up. I highly recommend these.
E.L.F-super cheap brushes. I love them. They do not shed. If you are on a budget, I would recommend these.

Eyebrows (again)

Which eyebrow shape do you ladies have? I go for the more Sophisticated Thick. I do have a lot of hair so I think for my face shape this goes well for me. I really do go for bold eyebrows. I think they make a statement. The DipBrow Pomade which I am obsessed with helps me achieve the arch because let's face it, my brows aren't naturally thick anymore all due to severe over plucking.

Maybelline Define-A-Brow

I have heard that this brow pencil comes real close to the Brow Wiz by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have tried it before when I was unexperienced with make-up. I will have to buy both to determine if it is a dupe or not!

Thrift Finds

I love to go thrift shopping and antique shopping. Finding something different there. Not one two items are alike. The other day my husnad and I went to our local thrift store and we found a Louis Vuitton belt. No kidding. We bought it of course. They charged me $1.35 for it. I'm pretty sure they had no idea what brand that was. I am aslo sure that it probably wasn't real or maybe it is. Anyways the point is, is that you can always find something different at the thrift store, something someone won't have. I like to look at furniture there see what we can fix to look nice for maybe under $20!

Morning Routine

I am starting to make a habit of my morning routine. I wash my face with whatever face scrub i have, remove any leftover make-up, then I use this new product I have been using and loving which is the Clean&Clear Dual Actin Moisturizer it claims to moisturize dry skin, treat and help prevent pimple. I have been having pimples (yikes) acne lately. I am not sure why out of a sudden I have been getting acne. Anyways, I really do like it, It does moisturize very well and I can feel the cool effect on my skin from the salicylic acid in it. I also am using the Eos balm in coconut milk. It is so moisturizing and it smells so delightful. Need to keep them moisturized because here in NE we are about to enter the cold weather and healthy lips are a must. I think this flavor and the one in sweet mint are the only ones I like, the other ones aren't really good in my opinion. I also have to sneak in here that I am also taking new vitamins for my hair, skin and nails. They are VitaFuisnons. Taking vitamins in my opinion is an essential in my daily life.

Maybelline palette The Nudes

I am pretty sure we have all seen this around. Everyone talking about it. Well what do you guys think about it? For under $12 at most places this is probably a first for the popular drugstore brands(L"OREAL, CoverGirl, Revlon, etc) Maybelline was right to introduce this. Maybe other companies will step up and do something like this, which I would be eager to see. Now, the real question, is this palette a hit or miss, well the formula of the eyeshadow are the same as the other quads that they have, the ExpertWear, not the EyeStudio although I do love the EyeStudio line a lot, so as formulation goes, I'm not too impressed, they seem too chalky for me, I wish they were creamier. I do love the colors that they do have, they just were hard to blend in my opinion. I do own it and I was so excited to try it, I do appreciate that they do have a variety of shimmers and matte. I do love the colors and I do reach out for it here and there. Overall this palette is an okay palette not bad but definitely not the best.

What color of eyeshadow enhances your eye color.

We can wear whatever eyeshadow we want right? But what if we want to naturally enhance them? Well in the picture below is a good example of colors that will enhance you eye color. If you take one color on each eye you can already see how it enhances the eye color. Remember, we can wear whatever color of eyeshadow, but these colors here are just color enhancers, feel my drift?
